No way MTL retains half of Petry's salary when Seabrook's coming their way with little retention. You want that to go through, retention is only from Seabrook's salary.

chicago doesn't even consider this 2 first possible lottery 1sts a 3rd ovl pick and a young goal scorer to dumb seabrook ik we are sending value but like look at what they are giving up

It's just not realistic. Seabrook played with 8 different Dmen last year which includes (1) solid Dman…Keith, (1) solid Dprospect...Joki, and (6) young and inexperienced fringe NHL/AHL players....some clearly not NHL players. Brandon Davidson, Gustav Forsling, Slater Koekkoek, Daniel Manning, Carl Dahlstrom, and Eric Gustafsson...who is SOLID offensively, but needs work defensively. Allow Seabrook to play with a clear NHL dman for atleast half the season. There will be a bit uptick in his play this year.

Chicago gives up a boatload of a contract to be replaced by a #2D and an Elite #3C (same money).

Of course they're going to give up the equivalent of 3 1sts to do so.

So let him play for half of the year so he'll only have 4.5 years left? He's not going to get any better at this point in his career.

You're replacing Seabrook with Danault + Petry.
Retained Petry = 1st + 2nd + B Prospect (Perlini)
Danault = 1st
Dach is the Seabrook sweetner in this case.

No...once he proves that having a NHL partner helps...ya know...play hockey. Then all these crazy unrealistic trades don't need to happen anymore.

If I were a GM, I'd rather take less compensation but ensure cap health in the coming years. 15M$ between Weber and Seabrook, for another 6 years or so. Ouch.
