I don't think Ken Holland became such a respected GM to do something like this... if you though people hate chia... this would cause riots in the streets. Secondly Brannstrom is a highly valued prostpect... why would anyone want CECI back right after they got rid of him for a late round draft pick as the sweetner??? Lastly... there is no way that Tavares should ever be on the third line no matter how deep your centers are... put him on a wing.. you are going to need someone who can score playing with these centers.

Mitch Marner is such an overrated player. The guy literally can’t do anything on his own and can only produce when he is being carried by elite centres such as John Tavares and Nazem Kadri. He is absolutely NOT even close to being on the same level as Auston Matthews. In fact, William Nylander is even a more talented and capable player than Mitch Marner. I doubt the Oilers accept to take that cap dump.

Remember Edmonton traded Hall for Larsson so I have no doubt he'd consider that trade at the very least. I agree with the riots tho haha. The Brannstrom one may be a stretch, but you are also getting a 1st and a 3rd in an EXTREMELY deep defensive draft so you are getting him back. Ottawa is rebuilding. They need picks. Nobody would want Ceci back, he's more a caveat cause we need cap space. He'll hold down the fort in Brannstrom's abscence until you can build through the draft. Could still be a stretch tho. I thought about Tavares being second line center and throwing matthews on mcdavid's wing cause it worked well with Team NA. could totaly do that

You aren't totally wrong, but as long was Chiarelli thinks he's good haha. It may be a ballsy cap dump but you never know with that guy. in real life, i'd try to work out something where maybe he retains a little bit more salary in the first few years for none in the back years when I'd have more time to draft and trade away cap space.

Maybe if Dubas retains 5 dollars on Ceci's contract Dorion would consider?
