Additional Details:
What else needs to be added. NYR looking to clear some cap, this saves them over 1 mill. Jankowski is a cheaper C for them than Strome with similar production. Brodie strenghens their blueline, which is arguably their achilles heel, he can play top pair minutes with ease, would be really good with Trouba

Are you equating scoring 32 points in Calgary with scoring 32 points for the Rangers?

You'd think seeing Lindholm would show you why that's a massive fallacy....

Buch carries about the same value as Lindholm since they're pretty similar as players.

Strome gets a 3rd rounder. Unless you'd prefer Bennett. Main difference is age and contract. And the fact that Bennett is more physical whereas Strome has better hands.

Not sure how much value Brodie has since he's a pretty terrible player when Giordano's not there.

Buch and Strome and a prospect for Hanifin and Bennett would be interesting though. But like any good ACGM you're trying to trade your bad players for better ones so I understand why you'd recoil at that.

We want more than 1M in cap space ... we're not going to move Buchnevich for Brodie.

Rangers don't have any need for Brodie. Trouba,D'Angelo and Fox is all set on the right.

You are on to something, with this proposal. I'm purely guessing; but I believe Tkachuk will want over $9 million..and he has a solid argument to make for that number (alongside of his agent). Also, there's Rittich to re-sign which will be a solid price..so I think the Flames will need roughly $13 million to meet their goals.

Brodie coming to the Rangers would be fine; but, it prompts an additional flip. So, I'm suggesting your proposal includes a third team with cap space and a need (think Minnesota or Montreal, for example).

Fun Game: who's player A and who's player B:

Player A: Scoring Chance Differential % : 49.59 Shot Differential %: 50.80 Expected Goal Differential %: 50.75
Player B: Scoring Chance Differential % : 49.01 Shot Differential %: 45.95 Expected Goal Differential %: 47.15

These are the common metrics used to judge a player's affect on ice.

Player A is Shattenkirk.
Player B is Brodie without Giordano.

Should be known that Brodie should have a massive advantage because Calgary is a significantly better team in ALL of these categories than the Rangers. None of these numbers are team -relative.

So the fact that Shattenkirk has an edge either means he's very very good or Brodie without Giordano is very very bad....
