Detroit would probably rather do a protected 2020 1st. I don't think they'd move a 1st for Kreider with 1 year left though. We could probably get a 1st for him, likely a 1st+, but not from Detroit.

Deal with Detroit starts with Hronek or Veleno then you add a condional 2020 2nd (becomes 1st if resigns) then just a 3rd or equivalent and you're done. But Detroit is not a good trade partner, really bad contracts all around I'm not sure they can afford to resign Kreider which would be the only reason to trade for him...

I agree Detroit doesn't seem the most likely landing spot, but if they feel they can sign him, who knows? Completely agree that they would want some kind of protection on a first if they did give it up.

I don't see any way Detroit trades their 2020 1st in such a deep draft, especially when they will likely be a lottery team. They have two 3rd rounders this year and we get 2021 first, we retain some salary and let them negotiate with Kreider in advance of the trade to work out a long term deal. They have Green, Daley, Ericsson and Howard coming off the books next year. Think they could be a surprising fit.

My best guess is they would offer AA up in the deal.and maybe throw in either a 2nd or 3rd. AS deal is up.and don't think Detroit wants to invest in him. Could be wrong, never know with Yzerman.

that is totally possible. It's just that AA....isn't that good? AA + 2nd would be a decent starting offer for Buch, but it'd probably go up from there.

Kreider-AA

Hronek or Veleno makes a lot more sense since Zadina is untouchable.

Oh.I agree. Not who I would ask for ,just who in think Yzerman might push back with on a deal. Not the team I would deal Kreider to and not the GM I like to deal with it in Gorton. Wasn't a big fan of the deals with Tampa. Kreider to St. Louis makes more sense to me.

I agree. some sort of Bokk/Kyrou + conditional pick type deal makes sense for all
