Anaheim are not in a position to need or want Mike Green.
I also think Athanasiou is worth more and has more to offer than Risto

Yeah Detroit doesn't take this trade. Here's an easy way to look at it:

The Rangers got Trouba for Pionk and the 20th OA in the draft. Cheveldayoff wanted one of the following from Detroit AA, Mantha or Hronek. Now I think if AA or Mantha was on the table Cheveldayoff takes one of them instead of Pionk, Right? So if Detroit was unwilling to give up AA or Mantha for Trouba why would they for Risto?

No way does DET trade anything near that for Risto (nor does the rest of the league). BUF would definitely be selling WAY low (though, it probably won't go much higher, Risto is basically a 4th forward). Trading for Risto would definitely tank DET for a few years.

Nope Detroit isn't interested in Rasmus Ristolainen, And no way Mike Green would waive for Anaheim. Doubt he has any interest in playing that far west.

Sorry I'm an idiot. Helen St. James writer for the free press and she been covering the wings since 1996. A Winnipeg fan sent me a link a little before the opening of free agency. When we were arguing about Trouba for Mantha or AA.
