Drouin isn’t putting up the numbers to make his money, so why does everyone think he’s a good fit in wpg, laine bringing back a pile more on potential and team control, than that

I find it funny that jets fans thinks team will be lining up their top prospects and players for Laine, well guess what Laine trade Value is not what you think it is, he can score like the b est of them but cannot defend and that lowers his value, he can fix is defensive woes like Ovechkin did but no ones know how long that will take or if he is able too or even willing too and Jets cannot afford both Laine and Connor at 8m+ each....If trading Laine for players that are not super stars but end up rounding out the team for the better than that is whats best and would give the jets a better chance at the cup...the blue won without having McDavids or Crosbys they best player is Tarasenco.

Drouin had a bad year last year and still put up 53 points hes 24 and makes only 5.5m. MTL would need to add a 3rd piece (maybe a RD(Juulsen?) and proly another pick

This is the exact reason why I made a post about the Jets. I think their options are trade one of Elhers, Connor or Laine to make their roster work for this season. Or move out vets and take a step back. Send Wheeler to Montreal, they think old guys will last for ever, at least thats what they think of in Petry, Weber and Price.

Another reason for the jets to not trade laine. He has only become a better 2-way player over the years and will continue to get better. Don’t worry about that and bridge him so we can pay everyone and stay competitive. Then pay him with buff’s money. People keep making laine proposals but the jets are not going to trade him. When was the last time a star RFA of that caliber got traded. I can’t remember it ever happing once the cap era so why would it happen now

I think it starts with Domi for Laine, the Jets could use a center

Domi worth more than Laine, Domi a complete player, Laine a 1 dimensional player, Domi can play C, Laine cannot.

Laine is a betting man and i won’t be surprised if he wants a bridge. This is the same guy who bet on himself to drop out of high school to play in the liga. If he wa to long term, I think the jets give him 8 and no shorter. Let’s not forget that with the offer sheet window closed the jets have most of the leverage. If it’s a bridge the jets don’t have to do anything. If it’s a long-term deal trade perreault for a pick or dump kulikov with a pick
