I would do that trade less the pick or Bracco (not all 3) but no way Dubas gives him that contract

The key is trading Ceci. If we trade him, we have more cap space to sign Marner, and this is a contract that we all know he would accept.

Marner isn't getting a cent over $10.5M

You don't have to trade him if you give Marner a more realistic contract, then he is UFA after this year

Well Marner isn't willing to accept anything else.

I’d sooner see the Leafs spend their money by putting Ceci on waivers and AHL than trading him with picks and prospects when he’s only here for a year.

Marner... maybe for 8 years? Or maybe this deal in 3 years time after a 3yr bridge? But not now and not 5yr.

And neither is Rantanen, Point, or any of the other remaining star RFA's. What do you think is more likely, Marner is a problem child or all of the remaining unsigned RFA's and their counter point GMs are waiting for someone to blink?

The ability to reason is what sets humans apart from animals. If we use it instead of blindly following emotions, we'd be a lot better off.
