Exactly. It would likely be in 10 range if it gets done now imo. Hall with Tavares? Oh boy..

Am guessing ~$9.5 million AAV...maybe he would take discount to Skinner money ($9m x 8 years). Its no secret he wants to play in Toronto.

10,750,000 x 8 years is what I think he gets now. On the open market hed get 12+ but with his injuries history, I wouldn't take that chance if im him, ill take the 10.75 now and also he wouldn't be able to sign with Toronto in free agency, this gives hi mthe chance

I think NJD would have to add to the deal. The age gap is to big.

Not sure I follow, "he wouldn't be able to sign with Toronto in free agency". Are we talking about Hall? If he is dealt to Leafs with extension in place...that would be 9 years from now.

In 8 years, they will be 30 and 35 respectively.....Both elite talents but 35 getting less $$. So no big addition really needed. Maybe pick, lower tier prospect or Sammy Vats for 1-year if Toronto can make salary work. But nothing major.

I meant if he wanted to go to Toronto in free agency, they dont have the cap to bring him in. SO, the only way to get to Toronto would be thru trade and Toronto wont do the trade without an extension so he would have to settle for less than Panarin and Karlsson

I agree with that I didn't mean NJD would have add lot and I probably should've qualified the with my post. But a pick or a middle of the road prospect like you said would be plenty.

Not trying to be rude, but do you have a source for that. All I heard so far is he wants to be on a contender, which TOR is, but I haven't heard anyone say TOR specifically.

No, he has not said...been mostly rumor ever since he came back from injury too early last season to face Leafs. He moved to Toronto area (Oakville, I think) last year. Is buddies with a few of the leafs, Taveras, etc. Works out there in Summer. Tweets about other TOR teams. Says things like, "if Hischier played in Toronto, he would won Calder". And so on. Just a long believed thing by people that follow him.
