2020 bruins

Created by: Username_Bot
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 18, 2019
Published: Jul. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
cap raises only by 500k to try stopping a lockout. just my thought on how maybe the Bruins team can advance. May have low bridged a few players but we still have the cap to increase the cap-hit if needed

BOS
  1. 2020 6th round pick (FLA)
COL
  1. Backes, David
  2. Forsbacka Karlsson, Jakob [RFA Rights]
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (BOS)
  4. 2021 5th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Its not new that David Backes needs to be moved in order to create cap. This is just a hypothetical scenario because Sweeney doesn't look to move David Backes but it would make perfect sense in this scenario in order to do so.

JFK is playing in Sweden the following year and with the drafting of Curtis Hall, John Beecher, and even Quinn Olsen (he is more of a C than a LW) and the rising stars of Oskar Steen, Jack Studnicka, and Samuel Asselin; its clear that the Bruins don't need another C. Its time to move on for JFK. (not even mentioning that fact that we also have Fitzgerald, Hughes, Lauko, and Frederic)

Colorado does have a RFA problem in Rantanen as of right now but it is clear that they have enough cap space to not just afford Rantanen and Kamenev, but to also take on some cap. They don't have any big contracts in quite a few years and they could always use a versatile depth player even though he may cost a lot. Giving up a 2nd and a 5th should do it.
2.
BOS
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (MIN)
NSH
  1. Miller, Kevan
  2. 2022 6th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
2022 Conditional 6th round pick: If Kevin Miller plays over 40 games during the 2019~2020 season, a 2022 7th round pick would be sent instead.

Nashville doesn't have much to offer anymore. They would be looking to youth up as soon as possible but the defense isn't coming just right. With the departure of PK Subban, their defense have definitely taken a blow. Miller is on his last year of his deal. As much as I love Miller, he just have no where to play on the lineup. Kampfer as depth and Clifton to take up his former position. Miller is almost fully healed (at least from most sources I have heard) and could be looking for a bounce back year to come back stronger than ever. It won't take that big of a toll on Nashville the cap would only be there for a year (if they don't extend him) but it would easily bolster their defensive depth. They are known as a very defensive team so this could easily help their defensive system out. If Nashville doesn't work, this could work for any team in the Western Conference.

btw, this trade and the avs trade happens during 2019
3.
BOS
  1. 2021 3rd round pick (WPG)
  2. 2021 6th round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Conditional 2021 WPG 6th round: if John Moore plays over 50 games in the 2020~2021 season, a 2021 5th round pick would be sent instead.
WPG
  1. Moore, John ($750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
After moving half the defensive core of the Jets, the Jets need to fill in depth on their blue line. Perfect way to do so is to add a versatile 2-way Dman who has shown his capability of offense but also defensively. He was the man out on Boston's stacked blue line and he definitely didn't have the same game as he did in New Jersey. A change of scenery and more playing-time for Moore could see him have a bounce-back season in Winnipeg. And even if he doesn't, it still is a trade the Jets need to make as they don't have much cap but need depth.
4.
BOS
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (VGK)
VGK
  1. Cehlárik, Peter [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Solid player on the 3rd line. No elite skills or hands but especially hard working. Eligible for waivers so can't play him in Prov. He has no where on the lineup for the Bruins but for any other team, especially top heavy teams, he is a perfect fit.

Sure. depends on how he does this next year. If he scores below 30, he should take that. If he scores over 30, we just give him 6*4M or 6*4.5M. I don't see him getting more than that, changing it now. unless he goes on a crazy year and scoring 40 goals, i don't see it happening, but if he really does, just give him a bridge of 1*5.5M

30 goal scorer getting 6x4? Go ahead and try to find me one example of that happening recently.

yeah ok, fine 4M might be low but how much do you want to give him? 6M by 6 for a 30 goal scorer? who is also a RFA

laugh laugh I just love the low ball offers on Torey Krug, It's already been reported that he's seeking anywhere from $8 to $9 million per long term. No way in hell he takes a hometown discount to stay with Boston. He'll get big money in free agency guarantee you that.

Connor isn't getting close to 6. 5.5M would be already a high payment

You’re giving Matt Grzelcyk 2.25 million dollars on an extension. You’re not going to be proving anyone wrong anytime soon
