Can you imagine a Sheary-McDavid-Neal line? Those two wingers are gonna do some serious damage with 97.

Hmmmmmm if I am GMBots I counter with the following:

Rist & Sheary

for

Russell, Puljujarvi, Bouchard, Yamamoto & Bear

Do not need another first round pick.

Overpay, Risto is barely worth a first, especially an EDM first

Yeah easy decline from Edmonton on that one. I feel like I’m already offering to much as it is but basically I see Yamo as compensation for taking Russell.

Ive been wanting to give Calgary Okposo for Neal, Russell (they already have Scandella) Bear (wouldnt be trading a RHD if we were trying to acquire one) and Puljujarvi have no interest for Buffalo

Bouchard is a complete non starter and Bouchard and Bear coming back to Buffalo makes even less sense. Sabres end up with more RHD

Ristolainen and Sheary for Puljujarvi, Yamamoto, Jones and a 2020 1st round pick.

(Or Ristolainen, Sheary, and a 2nd round pick...for Nugent-Hopkins.)

No need for Russell, the point in trading Ristolainen is to open cap space and/or get a 2nd line center...keep Puljujarvi if you want.

You aren’t getting Nuge....

I have to add Russell or else it doesn’t work for the Oilers cap wise.

Very interesting EDM is sending a cap dump Russell, Kris; an unsigned possible draft bust Puljujärvi, Jesse; a 5th round 22 yo RHD who could be a bottom 4 NHL defenseman, Bear, Ethan; a decent prospect who is projected to be a mid 6 forward, Yamamoto, Kailer and a first for a former 50 pts LW and consistent 40 pt RHD.
While Buffalo is getting a LOT of maybe's, EDM is getting proven NHL players.
We can discuss ad nauseam the value of Ristolainen we know he plays too many minutes, hits a lot and is only 24 yo, the same age that many defensemen had their breakout year (Letang, Burns, Chara come to mind).
TBH Buffalo may end up with nothing out of this trade except for prospects who do not become NHL players. Edmonton is getting proven NHL value.
I think I still make the trade as this gives Buffalo about $4,000,000 cap space in the end and some decent looking young players while trading players from the two positions that Buffalo has depth.
I would love to hear comments.

Yup, I agree. I think Sheary was to be Eichel's LW until the Skinner trade.

I do not think EDM would do that trade.

You may be correct. Let's say you are, Risto for the first, Puljujarvi for Sheary, Bear for taking Russell. The only over payment is Yamamoto which could be nothing as he is only a prospect.

no, you need Sheary to get Puljujarvi, and Russell is included to balance the cap and get Bear.

No not massive, see my break down above even presuming Ristolainen is only worth a first.

Russell is needed to balance the cap. I know he is another Scandella, but he has to be included.

So you're saying that bc they're prospects K'Andre Miller Evan Bouchard Bowen Byram, Jack Hughes and Kappo Kakko (just to name a few) don't have any value bc they aren't "proven NHL talent"

Really that what you read out of my comment? I mentioned Bear, Yamamoto and Puljujarvi. Bear being a fifth round pick may turn out to be good but very few do, (less than 10% get to the NHL at all), Puljujarvi from most Edmonton fan is thought to be a bust, and i said Yamamoto is the best of all of them. I was talking about the prospects in this trade and nothing else. Please do not put words in my mouth. I am really disappointed that you failed to understand my comments. If you actually follow my statement, I said I would make the trade even if all of the prospects turned out sour. Wow talk about a discussion over nothing.

My bad, i did kind of glaze over that last part, but what I read from the only overpayment is Yammamoto etc (which was probably just a misunderstanding) was that you think it's no big deal to give up who's probably your best forward prospect bc he might not be an NHLer, I get that that's not how you meant it, just how I read it (and jumped to a conclusion) quickly
