@Billy739 @Bigphil @F50marco Is this fair trade for both teams, filling their needs

I don’t know much about Evans, but Aho I think will be a very good top pair guy based off what I’ve seen because I can attend Bridgeport games when he is in AHL, Evans maybe a 3rd line guy and I just wouldn’t want to give a top 4 guy for a 3rd liner, but again I haven’t seen Evans play so I may be wrong

I disagree when you said Aho will be a top pairing guy. He have the potential to be a 2nd pairing guy, Evans the potential to be a 3rd Center. Maybe MTL can throw a 4 or 5th round pick, its up to the scout of each team what they see in each player

Aho is a Mete type player who is a #3-4 D potential player but not on any team ever would he be considered a #1 D like a Weber , Josi or Hedman
guys like him are good for 22-24 minutes over the course of their career but lets not pretend he's a Noah Dobson or Alexander Romanov level player who will be a #1-2 guy.

there is value but its not going to get you a huge return anymore then trading Mete would .

Evans is a quality prospect who's got more potential on wing then Center. At Center he could grow into a 4th line role but at wing he's got Paul Byron like bottom 9 qualities as just like Byron he's fast , he's a battler and he's got a knack for creating momentium . Ultimately though i feel MTL is better off trading Ikonen who would have more value to NYI right now .

this trade is fair enough at face value but if MTL is offering Evans i think we gotta throw in a 3rd round pick to make it even .

the other alternative is Aho and Ho-Sang for Ikonen and Fleury .
this gives NYI a better Center prospect in return and a RHD who will be a #3-4 D in the NHL playing a very similar game to Jeff Petry as a PP Leader who's a reliable shot blocker and hitter. adding Fleury gives NYI time to develop Wilde and Dobson properly like they did Toews and Aho . Ikonen's playing in a men's league by 18 which lead to injurys by the end of his first season that took him out the majority of the 2nd season . After returning Ikonen was flying high using his speed and agility to put up 5g and 5a in 13 games post surgery and seems to be right back on track .

losing Aho might sting but being able to turn a 1st round pick who hasnt done well in NYI system into a talent like Joni Ikonen who is an extremely speedy possession forward who create's a lot of momentium would be a win for NYI who could add Ikonen as soon as this season if he has a good camp . Adding Fleury allows NYI to move on from the very old Boychuk letting Mayfield and Fleury battle for 2nd RD position over the next 2 years until Dobson emerges .

I like Ikonen alot, I rather keep Ikonen & they keep Aho. Ikonen is a sniper, I know we have Caufield, but a future line Lehkonen-Ikonen-Ylonen would be amazing

Aho is NHL ready but not Evans is not. More value for Aho than Evans at present.

Pretty similar in value. I think it really comes down to team needs. If both teams get what they want, I don't see a problem.
