Description
As it stands right now Lighting are in a strange spot, expansion draft is 2 years away and all their major signing happen this year and the next. Assuming Johnson will waive his NTC to move closer to home and play under his former coach, Flames offer the lightning a short term solution to their defense gap (maybe long term if they find a way to extend him) on the right side. In addition a 3/4C who's great on the PK. Personally I think Cirelli will get a decent amount of time next season centering the 2nd line, thus Bolts will need another center besides Paquette. But hey, that's just my take. Also a 3rd is sent to Tampa if Brodie doesn't resign to make up for the contract length difference.

On the other side I have Johnson and Domingue going to Calgary. Tampa likely won't have to the room or the need to resign Domingue next year, so getting some value for him before he hits FA next year seems worthwhile. Domingue will serve as a 3rd option for the Flames, maybe even become backup depending on injuries and performance. As for Johnson, he will fill a needed role on the Flames of either playing 2C or RW in the top 6. Bennett, Lindholm, and Johnson will all be able to play 2C / 1 and 2 RW interchangeable. I have Dube on the 3rd line being mentored by Backlund, personally I think he will eventually be able to play 2C/3C himself putting Bennett back on the 3rd line wing.

Use Johnson as 2C. Tkachuk-Johnson-Bennett would be beautiful 2nd line.

I stated in the description that all 3 were interchangeable, all 3 have fairly good face off stats over the past couple years, I think it all comes down to chemistry at the end of the day ofc.

Value looks good but I doubt TB would trade Johnson without getting Brodie signed first
