I’m all fairness he is a good player and has a chance to bounce back. But if he doesn’t Calgary robbed them

Calgary didn’t rob anyone. Edmonton won the trade regardless of whether or not Neal bounces back.

Yea, must be horrible to be paired with 50 goal 105 point guy.

I don't see how people can think Calgary wins this trade at all.. Oilers get the contract without clauses and the buyout isn't insanely punishing. If Neal flops next year Oilers buy him out and save ~3M for 2 years. Neal can even be buried in AHL for small relief

That is the dumbest take on here.. If Neal doesn't bounce back Edmonton is paying 6.5 for a 4th line player that they will buyout. Calgary didn't rob anyone, Edmonton didn't win a trade regardless.

Even if Neal gets stuck on the Henday on his way into town and just goes around in circles for the next 4 years not playing a game Calgary still hasn't robbed Edmonton. I think the trade actually fits both teams really well. For Calgary they swapped 3rd liners and brought in a bottom 6 player that will be what they need as opposed to Neal, while losing no production what so ever, for Edmonton they took a calculated gamble hoping a guy will click with the best player in the world. My big point with getting Lucic is that if he was on the team last year I doubt Hamonic misses time with a busted face having to step up to a monster in Gudbransson. I'm one of the few in Calgary that thinks this will work out.

Not in this lineup ! For the oilers to really contend they need them on separate lines. Need 4 lines to win in this league.

Separating them right now weakens the Oilers rather have 1 great line, 1 good line then watered down lines until more depth is amassed through our system pairing them Draisaitl or RNH with McDavid is best

Your choice but that one great line has won what?.35 games One line can't play an entire game .

Holland has replaced almost all the bottom 6 and PKers cause they were more the problem then the top 6

That good and needed to be done, but still think you need more balance in your top 6. McD with Neal and you put Leo with RNH. Now two lines where you can shelter a borderline top 6 wing and actually elevate that wings game. Similar to.the Crosby/Malkin approach. Just my opinion , but a more balanced team actually helps all and makes it harder to defend against.
