Description

Leaving the debate to how much Marner is worth to other posts - why wouldn’t the Leafs consider Nylander as their 3rd C? Johnsson-Matthews-Kapanen were a strong line. Spezza can bring experience and hockey IQ to the line while Kerfoot adds a strong third LF. Gives the Leafs three lines that can roll over the D with a somewhat weaker 4th. Rather than two amazing and two weaker lines, this gives the team more attack options and makes it harder to play against one or two lines.

Depending on whether the Leafs want Kerfoot on the wing or centre, your thought on having Nylander at centre is good. If the Leafs want to go that way, I hope they have told Nylander already.
Like to see him getting his head into the position and well as some off season practice manning that position.

If kerfoot and nylander were on the same line I’d rather kerfoot play C cause he has more experience playing it and nylander proved he couldn’t centre a line this year

I think Nylander centred Marleau and Brown well this year, there was hardly any scope for offense on that line and Brown/Marleau were too slow for Boston. Also, Kerfoot played the entirety of last season on the wing; doesn't have much exp at C. That said I think Nylander is good to complement a player like Matthews but this configuration is p tight
