Rangers could probably get a 4th for Namestnikov without retention. The remaining Picks aren't enough for Kreider.

If MTL was a cup contender I'd give more for Kreider, also if he had more term left. But specifically to MTL he's not worth more than what I proposed IMO.

Most teams might feel that way now. Main reason they want to hold onto him until the Deadline. Increase his trade value.

So you don't want to pay the asking price. Doesn't mean he is available for what you rant to pay

NYR is well known for being a class organization, which is why most top UFA want to play for them. As a class organization NYR would never trade a loyal home grown payer like Kreider to a city full of delusional fans who wrongly feel Kreider Intentionally tried to injure MTL goalie Price. NYR trading Kreider to MTL would be so cruel that it makes me sick just thinking about it!

There's MAYBE 10 teams that will give what the asking price is, that's IF they have the assets.

The pool of teams that want Namestnikov shrinks to MAYBE 5 cause he's played like ****. Contenders might feel he's not a difference maker not even worth a 4th. For non contenders doesn't make any sense at all with 1 yr left on his contract. I'm willing to take both of them.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You want loyalty, get a dog. Gorton would trade Kreider to MTL in no time if he thought the return was worth it. I'd give Kreider the stall next to Price off the bat.

Don't worry about what I want to do with himcool . All you need to know is that I'm willing to do a deal in order for you to relieve much needed cap space. You accept I'm happy, if you don't, life goes on.

One of the dumbest thing I saw on capfriendly. Congrats. Talking about delusional fan is quite ironic.

Don’t worry, there’s at least one or two of my fellow NYR fans that will come in and say we will only trade Kreider for Caufield and Kotkaniemi

Gorton is going to move Kreider to whoever offers the best return. However, Kreider has a modified no trade and not sure he would waive to go to Montreal. Either way, at this point I think they are waiting for a 1st round pick to trade him or will just hold off until the trade deadline.

Valid point ofcourse. Who knows, NYR might even be in the playoff bubble by then, and just end up keeping him.

New York Rangers are not known as a classy organization at all. They were the organization that waived both redden and their captain Drury to play in the minors to save cap.

People are want to play for NYR for the same reason that the Knicks are often a free agency destination despite them sucking: it's New York city! Playing on front of the bright lights in the mega world city.

Kotkaniemi is obviously worth a lot more, let alone both. But I suspect Caufield alone is the kind of price they're looking for

It's a subjective opinion. Do you think Tatar was worth a 1st, 2nd, 3rd when McPhee traded for him? Or was Subban and Karlsson worth more than what Poile and Dorion got in return? Was Hanzal worth the 1st and 2nd that MIN gave up for him to play 3rd line C behind Staal and Koivu? You'll get different answers from people.
