Very realistic trade. Bruins get rid of a bad contract. Hurts a little but has to be done. And devils have ton of cap space so it doesn’t really hurt them and they get a 2nd round and a potential top 4 D prospect.

Even a third would probably do it. NJ has some interest in Backes so receiving him, a decent prospect that needs a change in scenery and a pick would probably move the needle
