Description

Pionk didn’t have a good year last year. However, last years NYR was pretty poor, and he was paired with Marc Staal for pretty much the whole year. Those 2 things have changed, so I think that he can succeed here.

This is my hope as well. That and he's still 24 so there's still some time for improvement. JoMo is his ideal partner but I'd like to see Poolman there since he's more defensive. But I don't think Kuli and Pionk would work at all lol so you'd have to have Beaulieu on the 3rd pair in that case.

Staal didn't help, but his play in the Defensive end can't really be blamed on anyone else. Definite liability. Overpaid him on this Bridge deal by at least $1.5M.

Regardless of whether the Rangers were bad or Pionk was thrown in over his head with a past his prime defense partner this is a terrible overpay for a team with very little cap space.

Like seriously wtf did Pionk do to earn more than $2 million? This is just bad, I smell a stinky cap dump trade coming, the Jets just keep effing up with roster management decisions. Like really they're nickel and dining Copp but they handed Pionk $3M×2, seriously like wtf is that?!
