I don’t think Minnesota takes this. 2020 1st + Anderson could be the sweetener for Backes alone, so that just leaves a Frederic-Zucker swap which heavily favors Boston. Roster is also a player short so shave a bit off the McAvoy contract and call someone up

I would probably replace Backes with a 2nd and take back a 3rd, and move backes somewhere else with a different sweetener. Don’t know how Minnesota fans feel about that but that’s what I would give up

At best andersson is an okay 2nd pairing D... in 3 years. Fredric is maybe a 3rd line NHLer plain and simple. overvaluing your teams prospect af

toronto had to give up a 1st for Carolina to take 1 year of marleau. Backes has 2 years left @ 6 mill - probably need to trade a 1st and a 2nd for a team to take on that contract

Much different scenario. Also, for a trade like that it’s way more about the real money. Backes only has 750k more than Marleau had left on his contract. If a team buys him out, it goes down to 167k more than Carolina paid

Yeah the Kakko to NY guy is definitely a Bruins fan. Those are two good prospects and a bad contract, it's a better deal than the Pittsburgh one.
