Was thinking about that but bruins don’t have a ton of depth at RHD. Losing Carlo would hurt more than getting Ehlers would help tbh

Torey krug. Coming off 40 point season, group 1 RFA- 1 year, 1.4 million

Rielly Smith, coming off 51 point season, group 1 RFA- 1 year, 1.4 million.

3.8 million for McAvoy on 2 years is actually GENEROUS

Carlo, the guy has 32 points in 280 games. Above average in defense but he would get a contract similar to Chychrun- 4.5mil for 6 years- if he signed long term. 2.2 on a 2 year bridge for him makes sense.

Just because you don’t have that much contract knowledge doesn’t mean “I’m bad at contracts.”

5 years doesn’t walk Matthews right to UFA. It buys out 1 year. Still not great but 4 years for Carlo and 5 years for McAvoy takes them straight out of RFA without buying out any UFA years. Never has happened in the salary cap era, don’t think it ever happened before that either
