WOULD LOVE THIS. Really? Still a lot more than Aho's deal. More money, less term Gets a one year deal after this and is gone in four more years total.

Mikheyev has never played in North America but everybody placed him on Matthews wing ? Yes there's a good chance he might be ok, or the Leafs save 200K and sent him to the minors for a 700k Marlie.

Too much. Aho is the max

2 years 7.5
3 years 8
4 years 7.5 (this length ****s over the Leafs as it walks him to UFA)
5 years 8.5 (Aho)
6 years 9
7 years 9.5
8 years 10

Still too much. Scoring is up league wide by a large margin and without Tavares, Marner would have been lucky to hit 82 points.

Gaudreau's cap hit percentage on a 6 year deal (7.5) or Draisaitl's (9.2) on an 8 year deal. Take it or leave it.

Marner on the Leafs is worth more than Aho on the Canes.

Aho is the Canes. They have one other forward....the Leafs have 8.

Marner was bound to be a point per game player, J.T. just got him there faster.
Marner 1st season=61 2nd season=69 playing with 2nd line talent.

The Canes budget and fanbase and ownership is 1/4 the size of the Leafs.

Aho is playing with one 2nd liner and it drops off significantly from there.

The great thing about having top end talent and then adding more like Tavares, it elevates everyone. The sum is greater than the parts, synergy. Aho at a ppg on a Canes squad completely lacking any NHL forwards is far more valuable than Marner with the depth the Leafs have.

Nylander is more than likely better than Teravainen and yet Aho helped him score 76 points was it? There are better players league wide but Leaf fans forget there are 30 other teams with 30 completely different scenarios.

How can you say that? Marner didn't turn into a superstar until he got a top 5 goal scorer over the last 5 years and top 10 point scorer as his centre. Aho is doing it as the only all star

A sophomore player scoring 69 points while playing on a 2nd line is a superstar in making. Everybody knew this, J.T. just got Mitch to reach his potential quicker.

So when AHO got 65 points and 29 goals as a sophomore what does that make him?

You know because Marner got 69 points and 22 goals in 4 more games (82 gp vs 78). Is 7 less goals and 4 more points in 4 more games even better?

For that matter Nylander had 20 goals and 61 points. What does that make him?

Aho is going to collect 30 million in the next 3 years. He's a 10 million $ player. What's your point. Nylander career points away from Matthews are pathetic, he'll never reach superstar status.
