Well get prepared for Chabot offer sheet. No contract is expiring, so there's no money coming after the year (except the salary cap raise).

Hard no from Montreal! Over payment by the Habs and Ottawa wins this trade big time.
Weise in off the books next season and will be placed on waivers in the first month of the season or sent down.
Ryan is 7.25 mil for the next 3 seasons while Alzner is "only" 4.6 over the same period; buy out next season
Chabot for Domi, Mete and 2 draft picks?

MTL would have 7m in the Cap to sign Chabot. Ott has no top center prospects with the potential of Domi who is also a RFA. OTT has said they are willing to deal Ryan and take on unwanted contracts. Alzner makes 4.6m and doesn't play, for 2.5m more you get 15g and 20a in Ryan on same term.
