That rangers trade may be one of the worst I’ve ever seen on cap friendly

You forgot the trade to help EDM with their cap

Connor McDavid to LA for 1 order of poutine going back to EDM.

Hahaha, nice try. DF is only on our hands for another year. And he's actually a serviceable 5/6th defenseman. The Kings just have no other options to go beside Doughty at the moment, so Forbort is grossly mis-used. I wouldn't want Jack Johnson back on this team even in a 5th/6th capacity for a single year, much less for 4 more years at a higher cap hit than Forbort.

Rangers are definitely in a cap squeeze...but they have much better options than jettisoning a top 6 wing...who is cost controlled and showing signs of breaking out...any talks about Buch would start with a prospect in the list above and would include Smith going with him. no way is Buch given away!
