Other than so that you have someone else to either buy-out, retain salary on trade, or bury in the AHL... why would you give Puljujarvi $3Mx2?

I think that's he would ask for to stay in EDM. Not saying he's worth it right now, but if he stinks this season, it'll still be easy to trade come the 2020 offseason. I think a team like Ottawa would be perfect for him (cap space, would give him an opportunity etc.)

I don't know about you, but I'm an advanced stats guy, and would trade both Russel and Nurse. Nurse even has value considering his age and high draft position (kinda like Ceci a couple years back). Could probably get more for him though, didn't realise he got 40 plus points last year.
