As a Sabres fan, I agree it doesn't work value-wise, and I think ERod is a really good player to have on your team. The problem is I don't want Perreault either, so really we should just stop trying to move Risto to WPG (were this a Roslovic/Perreault deal).

We have too much quantity, not enough quality. Adding Perreault only makes the forward log-jam worse.

The whole idea with trading with WPG is that they need a #2 RD behind Buff now that Myers and Touba are gone. Risto is on a good contract for them long term. They also need forwards as they only have 8 signed with two more RFA's to sign. Getting ERod and Larsson give them replacements at cheaper contracts. If I were Buffalo I would even take out Roslovich and still make the trade.

Yeah I agree, except I'm this scenario they're taking two forwards and replacing them with two worse forwards lol, and yeah I'd I was Buffalo I'd do the reading without Roslovic and Lowry immediately, I'd still say that's an L for WPG, Ehlers is so good, he plays a very good two way game
