That maked great sense for Buffali imo, a center with only 2 years left, a good prospect and a 2nd. Rather have Dvorak+ though or somehow get Chychrun

Swap Crouse Perreault and Grabner Fischer too, that 3rd line would be envious (make teams envious or something w/e you understand what I mean)

I figured thats why, i think Crouse is good enough to carry a young 3rd line though, and Fischer can have a nice rebound picking up the residuals from those 2

No need for demers and why are we the ones adding the pick. We should be getting a 3rd-4th imo

Doesn’t matter. In my mind demers is grossly overpaid.
Taking that contract kills the point of trading Perrault. I though his cap hit was 1M after retention but at 3M no way
Justify demers as a top 4 d and were talking

Demers(RHD) would be great with Morrisey at 3.5M cap, 2.6M salary...save cap space...who cares about a 5th...

Is demers good enough to play top pairing shutdown mins tho. I don’t thinks so. Justify that he can and I’m all for it but right now, he seems like a Nathan beaulieu esque player

I care about the 5th. Jets are great at drafting and that 5th could be a top 4 defensemen or top 6 forward

Poolman, hellebuyck, Chisholm, Vallatti, etc all 5th rounders

We should be getting the pick imo

on a crappy Coyotes team, he played shutdown and was a plus player...we also get rid of Perreault's contract

“Getting rid” of perreaults contract will not be that difficult

To clarify his “shutdown role” was on the bottom paring in the mere 30 or so games he did play. You are overrating demers and underrating Perrault

Also that “crappy” coyotes teams was 2/3 points out of the playoffs and was one of the best defensive teams in he league so there’s that

On a great defensive team he had negative possession numbers and I’m not too sure about him.

Would rather just ride pionk and see what he does. Let’s not forget that niku was an absolute Crap Shute in terms of possession but we still rave about his potential. Before this season pionk was seen as having top pairing upside so let’s not shut him down yet. Morrissey is a bonafide top pairing guy and could elevate pionks games exponentially. Let’s not forget that his partner was Marc staal for the whole season.

Not saying he is Weber but I would t be surprised if he is by far the jets’ best defencemen next season. In fact, if he can quarterback the 2nd pp, I don’t see 50 pts as a stretch. He is just scratching the surface right now in terms of his potential. He has his own end down, and he is figuring out the offensibe side of things, which is where he truly excels.

I say give him what he wants now before he asks for more next season
