Timashov can't be sent back to the Marlies without waivers, so he makes the team or gets traded for future consideration or a 7th Rd pick. He is this year's version of Sparks or Lievo from previous years.

Wait according to this, buyout Ceci only costs the Leafs 750K, if that's true do it Dubas and bring back Gardiner.

No one is taking timashov off of waivers lol.

The actual answer is:
Moore
Mik

Maybes/injury call ups:
Liljegren
Marchment
Engvall
Borgman

Very unlikely:
Bracco
Brooks
Kivihalme

Everyone else

No one was going take Sparks, Marincin or Holl yet Dubas kept them all in the NHL full time last season because he was paranoid.

Plus Timashov is the cheapest (another reason Holl was kept in the NHL last season). If you've watched Marlie games instead of looking at stats you'd know Timashov is a good feisty player which the Leafs are lacking.

This take is awful in every way.

He is a feisty player but that doesn't mean he is NHL ready lol. He isnt really close either (1.5 years away at least). Marchment and Engvall are both closer than Timashov is and neither of them are ready themselves needing .5-1 more years of seasoning. If you have ever watched a Marlies game or had a basic clue about development at all you might know that.

Sparks was/is better than Pics. He would have been taken on waivers (look at all the goalies that were taken that are worse than Sparks). Marincin was sent through waivers last year and Holl was supposed to get more games than he did. You are literally just making **** up to 'prove' your crap point.

The cheapest option is the cheapest NHL option. Holl, Marincin, Goat, Petan, etc are the cheapest passable NHL options. Sitting Timashov in a press box for 60+ games is not a good way to develop him anyway.

Timashov has over 200+ AHL regular season games and almost 40 AHL playoff games. He is actually the Marlies current games played leader. He doesn't need anymore development. Those are facts, not making stuff up to prove my point. Marincin was sent to the minors after the TDL and Holl was just the cheapest bench warmer who could be found. Yes Sparks would have been pick up on waivers last fall, but only to fill another team's AHL roster.

mikheyev is the only guy for the start of the season.

bracco, timashov, liljegren are the three most likely candidates to make their nhl debuts.

You can't play a waiver claim in the AHL for one.
Your assessment on NHL readyness has to do with games played in the AHL? That actually explains alot of your **** opinions. Cool cool

So Timashov who played Canadian Jr League hockey, played 200+ AHL games isn't ready but Mikheyev who has NO North American experience is granted NHL ready ?

You're a dick by the way.

I am going by reports saying Babs wants to start him in the NHL.
Also the KHL is a far better league than the AHL and on top of that, I expect Mik to be a depth guy overall.

I am a dick, but I'm right.

Babcock also stated last summer that McElhinney was his back up goalie.

The KHL travel, schedule and amount of games played is very light in comparison.
