As a Leafs fan, I'd be all over this. I doubt the teams you have involved here would though. Oilers don't have the cap space to make those deals either. PS... If Kevin Gravel ends up on this team, you know something has gone terribly wrong!!

The Rangers trade is fine but the Edmonton trade isn't very good. Larsson isn't a good defenceman, he never has been. He's a middle pair right handed guy who doesn't have any offense and has below average possession numbers. This has been the book on Larsson for ever. He's comparable to Zaitsev and Ceci but gets a pass cause he was traded for Hall which is the worst trade of this decade by far.

Hard pass on the Edmonton trade. Keep Kap and if you want to move him, there are better trades I am sure.

As a ranger fan it’s not like the trade is bad value wise, but Deangelo is untouchable in my eyes

I agree with this guy. That edmonton trade is shocking. Is Larsson better than Ceci. Yes. But thats a low bar to climb. And Also he is not that much better which makes this trade even worse. Also Larsson is the exact opposite of what Dubas' D want to do. Mobile puck moving defencemen...

\and you want to give up a former 2nd round pick, a 3rd and Kappy who is much younger has 3 years left on his deal And will still be and RFA when he is done... Hard pass

I think you may be jaded in your view of Deangelo he's good but not great, however I think the trade isn't very good for the rangers. Deangelo is probably better than a 2nd and Borgman and Gautier don't exactly push the needle.

I guess you'd be banking on Pulli figuring it out, but that's becoming a big if and since Kapanen is only a year older and has figured it out, I think you stay with the safe bet. Yes right now Larsson is better than Ceci but who knows what a change of scenery will do for Ceci, perhaps he finds a comfort level in TO and develops a niche that works for his talents. Its possible, he's still young and was a 1st round pick. I don't think its likely, but its possible. I think in a perfect world, Ceci shows well and they flip him to a team like Vancouver to get Tanev for cheap and then add another reinforcement as well.
