Good deal for a puck-moving offensive dman like Djoos who can play on both sides. WSH is now officially over the cap; let's see what they do (+Stephenson is RFA).

Frustrating that this couldn't be $925K, now somebody other than Stephenson is getting moved out. Djoos is good and still has upside, but coming off 45 games and 10 points with some AHL action this is a tad bit high.

Yes, he had compartment syndrome in his hip after an injury he sustained in the area and missed a couple months. (I recommend not looking up the condition on google.) This is way too high from arbitration, IMO. It's now screwed the Caps and put them in a tough situation. Maybe that 'neutral' arbitrator is a Pens fan (joking...but not really, okay I am...maybe not).

Neutral arbitrator?! 1,25M for somebody who will be 7th Dman? Now bcs of that the Caps have to make some bigger move than not signing/trading Stephenson...

the cap being lower than anticipated through a wrench into a lot of teams plans.

Over paid. A $850,000 1 way contract would have been fair

I'm struggling to see how an arbitrator awarded this deal. For a guy who played half the games this year without really doing and was scratched in the playoffs, this seems a good amount too high. This seems very close to what his camp should file for, not what the award is. Given our already tight cap situation, I don't like the number being what it is.

So did the arbitrator know you don't necessarily have to choose one of the two figures presented? Can't imagine Djoos' side asked for more than this.

Still, they'll revisit things next year.

idk if it had to do with him winning a cup or hat but anything over 900k seems steep for him.....solid player but sieg is much better and cheaper
