do you want him at 11 per year until he's 36? He's a band-aid as is.

I like Hall but he's injury prone. I'd rather try our luck in FA than give up those players and a 1st rounder (especially Zadorov). And Landeskog, Makar, Timmins, Grub all need extensions the following year.

One of our young forwards should be able to fill in for Nieto - no need to pay him 3 mil.

New Jersey would say no unless they knew for sure that Hall wasn't staying in New Jersey.
Hall seems to like New Jersey.. They are a much better team and I don't see him leaving.
Therefore I don't think New Jersey makes that deal.
Though with Shane Bowers in the mix and a first it is slightly possible. I still however do not see either side really wanting to get this deal done.

I like the deal, but I have a feeling the Devils won't even consider anything until the trade deadline, and you don't give up that sort of package for months of a player, even as good of a player as Taylor Hall is. Now, I know you mentioned extension, but it usually doesn't happen that way where an extension is agreed to as part of a mid-season trade, especially in the case of Taylor Hall looking for a bounce back year after an injury filled 2018-19.

NJD would pass because the players don’t fit what the needs. Devils have centers: Hischier, Hughes, Zacha, Coleman, Hayden, McLeod. They need an NHL ready enforcer on back line, and scoring RW prospect.

"it usually doesn't happen that way where an extension is agreed to as part of a mid-season trade" - me grin I assumed you would come back with the Mark Stone example, but that is not the norm. Kyle Turris also did that as part of his deal to Nash when he was dealt as part of that big Duchene trade, but again, it USUALLY does not happen like that.

True. Still think NJD passes in the deal. Colorado has the pieces to acquire him, just don’t think it would be done with quantity.
