I think it is but puts us in an even tougher cap situation. Vancouver is pretty cap strapped too so they’d need to get creative to make it work

Here's the breakdown. Cap is 81.5. Rangers are at 82.4 right now. But McKegg is going to AHL and so is Beleskey. So Rangers are at 80.6. About 1 mil under cap. They have to sign Buch, Deangelo and Lemieux.

Well likely Namestnikov is gone so now Rangers are about 5 mil under the cap. Then if you deal Strome now you're 8 mil under the cap. Then if you put Smith in AHL you're at 9 mil under cap. Buch gets a 2 yr bridge for 2.8. And Lemieux gets a 2 yr bridge for 1 mil. Kravtsov comes up on ELC.

Which leaves about 4.3 max for Deangelo....And that's a 1st and 3rd compensation. If Rangers manage to deal Beleskey or Smith or Staal or Kreider, that number goes up.

So yeah Rangers are fine and Deangelo is staying. That's what the Pionk trade indicated. It's really just a question of if they go long term or bridge.

Try being more aggressive with it, idk if Dlo accepts this but 3.5×6 would be pretty good for any team

If I were him, I wouldn’t take it. I’d take a bridge for less to really solidify my status as a legit top 4D. Right now he has had one decent season and any long term contract signed now would reflect that.

I’d probably take that return as a rangers fan. Especially with Fox condition in play. Doubt AD would sign that though.

That’s insane. Almost as insane as giving up Buch for just a 2nd.
