KRUG FOR MANTHA

Created by: hanson493
Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 24, 2019
Published: Jul. 25, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Krug for mantha wont happen lol. However! This deal will never happen either as long as the bruins and habs remain in their current cities. That being said. This move helps both teams. Mcavoy gets the trouba contract even though it will probably be a 1.5-2x1 deal. Carlo gets 500k more than mcquaid did on his UFA deal.

he has 32 points in his career. defensemen that dont put up points dont get large salaries. find me one guy that has. in 72 games he had 10 points 2 goals 8 assists. kevan miller had 7 points all assists in 39 games. miller makes 2.5

mtl has room to pay him, they really need that offensive defenseman that can help drive their offense. Former coach in Claude. i mean i can see a fit i just know itll never happen.

Carlo has a career high of 16 points in a season. what makes him worth north of 4? i brought up mcquaid because mcquaid was a stay at home defenseman that got 2.75 as a ufa. kevan miller, a better player comp to carlo right now. signed a 4 year 2.5 aav deal. Defensive defensemen dont typically get major money in any free agency period unless its ufa. Name a defenseman that averages 11 points per season that got a significant deal.

I agree with that, but it's still too low. Carlo is so far out of those guys league it's silly. 6x4.5 seems solid to me.

how so? i think talent wise this is a very fair deal. gallaghers best 2 seasons were his last 2 years. outside of those 2 he had scored more than 20 goals once and never hit above 50 points. last 2 years he has been a better scorer for sure and thats what im banking on with this deal. Torey krug is a top 4 dman (i dont think that but bruins sure do) that can drive a pp unit and put up more than 50 points in 3 consecutive seasons. He likely gets over 60 points this year which is great for krugs agent terrible for the team that signs him.

I mean, Alzner got over 4.5mil per year after averaging 18 points the 3 seasons before he signed his contract and that was signed 2 years ago when he was 28. If you adjust via cap hit percentage, that'd be 5mil today. Then you factor in that Carlo still has room to develop seeing as he'd be 6 years younger at time of signing.... No way he signs 6x3.5

is he though? i mean if kevan miller could actually stay healthy i dont think you would notice a difference, miller actually hits players as well (just looked it up and i didnt realize carlo threw over 100 hits this year, shocked by that statistic). Mcquaid ill agree with in terms of talent, but what mcquaid lacked in talent, he made up for in grit and toughness. You dont find too many guys that are willing to just throw their body in front of pucks to make a living. Mcquaid was also part time enforcer, idk just a different package with him. Im not getting into advanced stats either but i mean Carlo is a good young player and has room to grow but 4.5 still seems like its too much $ for a 11 point per year defenseman. I know hes 22 and has room to grow into a better offensive player and honestly for his contract Im sure its less term than 6 years. Realistically its probably a 3x3 deal. but thats just my opinion is all.

Alzner was a UFA on an open market had 18, 21, 21, 13 in the 4 years before he signed a deal He also logged 20 minutes a night, was a top 4 dman that could move the puck, and blocked a ton of shots. carlo had 16, 6, 10. Carlo is in a restricted market im being optimistic with the signing but he probably gets a 3x3. money wont be as high as everyone is projecting.

There were games, a lot of games, especially in the playoffs (most notably the toronto series), where Carlo wasn't just their best defensemen, wasn't just their best player, but was the best player for either team on the ice. I'm not the only one that thinks that. LeBrun and McKenzie were running around tweeting all through the toronto series "Brandon Carlo is the most dominant player on the ice for this game,"

Points are not all that matters. Yes Carlo is so far ahead of Kevan Miller and Adam McQuaid that their names should never be in the same sentence.

Gally's contribution is much more important than his points! He's an elite grit player on forecheck, he's always taking hits in front of the net, he's a leader, he never takes a holiday shift. He is the heart of the habs team! He always stand up in important timings. That kind of player is worth much more than is stats! So yeah, maybe it's a fair deal if we compare talent only, but it's gonna need a much better offer to kick him out of Montreal, IMO he's untouchable, and if ever he is traded, it sure won't be to a direct rival!

Oh yes trust me I ageee krug would be a great fit there but I think an extension would be needed prior or and agreement that he signs after the trade

Rumor has it that Krug's 8 team no trade list, Is pretty much to all Canadian teams. So fat chance of him waiving for Montreal.
