Get good wingers and run McDavid-Draisaitl-RNH and have Brodziak or someone JUST for PK.

Perhaps, I just wouldn't want to put all my eggs into the basket of the 3 best forwards separated idea in case the wingers are not doing as well as the Oil hoped for. Probably best to get someone who could be a 2RW-LW option or a 3C option just in case McD-Drai-Nuge at C goes south. Namestnikov or Bjugstad would fit that best I think.

rangers say no.. safin had a terrible year in junior, doesn't bode well for any type of a future when Namestnikov is a 30+ point guy. If you put him on the wing with McDavid and Drai (he plays all three positions) he's easily a 50-60 point guy. He's one of the most underrated players, he literally can compliment his play to any line. I don't think anyone said he couldn't keep up while playing with Stammer and Kuch, he just doesn't have that role on the rangers.

Yes the rangers have their cap issues blah blah blah, but in terms of straight value, puljujarvi for namestnikov is a reasonable swap

Perhaps, depends how much the Rangers are able to get done without having to move a long a 1st or a 2nd round pick with a cap dump ala TO with Marleau. But if it comes down to it, I would do Pulju for Namestnikov (1 mil retained) if Pulju is still being so averse to ever beign in EDM again. Lots of variables to what is really going on with Pulju.

Ostap Safin is not worth anything. He was hurt all season long and when he came back from injury he put up 2 points... both assists... in 23 playoff games. His stock as a prospect has tanked.

I don't think they'll move a 1st, their 2nd is already tied to the Fox trade.

Rangers only need abt 5m in cap space, i think Smith is bought out tbh, maybe even Staal as well. I would do the 1m ret on Namestnikov for Puljujarvi, Puljujarvi has more risk but it's a higher potential reward, i think DQ could tap into that potential like he did with Buch, especially with another Finn in Kakko on the team.

If you traded for Namestnikov, Bjustad or Roslovic they would end up as top 6 wingers for the Oilers.
Eller is getting kind of old to give up that much for and that's a bit much for Bjustad too.

Best bet for a 3C for the Oilers would be to sign one of Sheahan or Brassard.

Yes I know haha, sort of just took a flier on that one...low-balling NYR fans is fun when they have a bit of a cap crunch. But yes not a very legit prospect at this point most likely. Was lazy on that one.

You’re missing Haas; his agent came out and said if he plays in the AHL for more than a week, Haas would go back to Europe.

If someone is acquired and beats him out of a spot in camp I don't think that matters at all. But if he wins the 4C in camp, then that's great.
