All 31 teams realistic season preview

Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 25, 2019
Published: Jul. 25, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
For the Ducks, I see them playing there young prospects this year as they look to rebuild/retool to get younger and faster. All there young prospects like, Terry, Jones, Comtois, Steel and Lundestrom may not be ready and the ones that aren’t will be sent down but I put them in there as a way to show what they may do in my opinion.
Playoff Prediction: No playoffs and will be behind 6th or 7th in their division.

I would be surprised if Fowler isn’t moved this season.

Possibly, But me personally I don’t see many teams want him with such a down year last year. With only 5G and 18A with 23P and a -14, he will have to show more this year and play how he did in years past before other teams start asking about his availability.

True. I’ve got a feeling it has something to do with Montour being gone.

59 GP after breaking his orbital bone. Point totals still totally in line with his career numbers (23 points/59 games=0.39 ppg vs 272 points/620 games= 0.43 ppg). Also, +/- is a dumb stat. Played on a team riddled with injuries (most man games lost last season), that ran without Gibby in net for 24 games, and had Carter Rowney as their #1 C for a number of games. What more did you want him to show?

A) No reason to trade him. He's signed long term and fits into the Ducks strategy of developing from within.
B) He has a NTC that limits the team to trading with 4 other teams.

I agree. I think it was a down a year for him and I think it was mostly the team he’s with. I agree the +/- is a dumb stat but lots of people point it out as a way he’s bad player.

Naw, the Montour trade meant that one of he or Lindholm was playing with someone that wasn't ready to be put into a top 4 role yet. Too many injuries, not enough depth.

If they can get a RHD that can move up into that role they'd have a good shot at being a sneaky team next year. Could also see him being shifted to the right side, which might hurt him a bit, but he's a sound d-man that the Ducks are lucky to have.

True but with a team who wants to get younger and faster with a very great contract, I don’t see him being moved.

I donno, by the time Anaheim is gonna be ready to be competitive again he's gonna need a raise and be close to 30, his contract is what makes him super appealing to everyone, they would get a really good return for him now.
