All 31 teams realistic season preview

Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 25, 2019
Published: Jul. 25, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Overview: I think the Bruins will have a slight drop off because of who’s in there division and a well improved Panthers team. They’re getting older as Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci, Chara are all above 30 but I still think they have many more solid years still. They have to stay healthy is another key in my opinion. As for the contract of McAvoy I think if he will take a bridge deal of 3-4years it will be 6.25-7 and if long term over 6 years he will comand over 8 which at this state of the Bruins it will be hard to offer a long term deal to him since they have little cap. If somehow they can move Backes(Don’t see them being able to) then maybe you can do along with trading Miller to anyone that is the only way I them being able to offer a long term deal to him. As for Krug, he has is struggles on the defensive side which is well known but I really don’t see that many offensive threats on the defensive side and someone who can handle the 2nd line PP. I think he must stay on this team for them to have another shot.
Playoffs: It’s a no brainer they will make it but where? I personally see if Toronto gets the deal done with Marner, I can see the Bruins between 2nd to the 1st WC spot. I see it as TBL- Toronto(If Marner is signed)- Bruins or Panthers then whoever isn’t at 3rd in their division they will be the 1st WC team.

1st wc?

Look the wheels have fallen off chara that's for sure, but they haven't fallen off Bergeron yet.
This team goes how he goes. Period. If he has a good year, the team is 2-3 place in the division. If the wheels come off, they probably aren't even making the playoffs.

He's 34, spin the wheel raggity man.

I'm curious which teams you think Miller and Moore go to and what the deals are.

I agree. that’s why I said they will slot between 2nd in there division and the 1st WC. I said they are getting older but I think they still have many more solid years left. They have to sign McAvoy still and if goes into the season unsigned that’s huge so that will be a reason they could land in the 1St WC spot

Tbh I really don’t know but they need to get them traded cause as of right now they have to sign Carlo and McAvoy and they don’t have the space to sign both.

The bruins played a lot of hockey last year without bergeron. They won. Bergeron was a fraction of himself in the playoffs. They won.

He isn't even their best player anymore.

Buddy that’s why I said in the range of 6.25-7. Not saying he will get that on a bridge but a range. Now if he will only take a contract over 5 or 6 years I think he will easily command over 7.8 and what’s bad about the lines? I didn’t want to have Pasta also on the 1st line as I think they will be way better off splitting up the 1st line and letting one of there young prospects grow with Bergeron and Marchand. Also do you think Senyshyn or anyone who didn’t play last year will be on there team this year?

1. If Carlo is above 4M it's for 8 years
2. If McAvoy is above 5M it's for 6+ years
3. Miller would get a similar package to McQuaid (4th. 7th)
4. Moore won't be traded
5. The lines are bad too

yeah you keep telling yourself that, then go look at the faceoff totals for the playoffs. He's out there for practically every one.
Like I said. Like it or not he is their 1C and like most 1C on a team it lives or dies with him.
Because they don't have anyone even close to being able to replace him on the roster or in the AHL. They simply don't have another center on that level.
It's not like a few other teams out there who have a 1A and 1B. They don't have that. It's Bergy or down hill. It is what it is.

without bergeron they won't be a contender. they'll make the playoffs. they'll likely only be capable of winning 1 round.
