Description

Considering the Clarkson trade, VGK seems no longer interested in trading Gusev and instead signing him to the Knights (McPhee had said earlier in the year that this didn't need to happen so something clearly changed)

To me, the piece that seems most likely to be traded to get this done is Cody Eakin. While a reliable depth center, his 3.875 mil cap hit could be used better elsewhere (like signing Gusev and Schuldt) so I think this is what realistically happens

(Blue Jacket fans, I am not saying this is your team but I am using you as the example here)

It looks like Fix-Wolansky is a pretty good prospect so I think the picks VGK gets back might be a little less, or perhaps we give a little better. But otherwise, I think this is a deal that could be made.

That's closer to the sort of package we'd trade for Gusev himself, rather than for the cap relief y'all need to sign him. Holden, in particular, would require bribery to take on, as he wouldn't get any playing time here. Eakin by himself would be welcome, but we'd have to scale that down a tad.
