Are you kidding me? Did he pay the judge to give him this contract? He is a great player don't get me wrong but I expected 1.7-1.9 mil for at least 2 or 3 years. Now he gets 2 mil for 1 year and then we have to overpay him or let him walk

sabres submitted a 1 year 1.5 offer erod submitted a 1 year 2.65 offer, arbitrator gave him 2. thats not bad at all for the sabres.

He's RFA next summer, once again with arb rights. Depending on how 71 & 23 do this year Botts could be spending a lot of that cap room on extending these two.

Solid depth player. Decent defensive forward. Possession driver and he can be a 30P guy. AAV isn't bad. But 1 year...

I said No to the poll but that's only because they should have signed him longer term. The money is fair. Love ERod.

It's a 1 year deal, nothing to fear, he could be part of a trade at the tdl to buy a bigger piece. No sweat.

Why not lock him up long term like all the other teams are doing with bottom 6 forwards for example Brandon Tanev and Oskar Sundqvist

why are people saying it's a bad contract when the guy can

-literally play any position on any line
-produce 25-35 pts in the top9
-reliable defensively
-only $2M

I think it's only because of the term. Most wanted more years at that AAV.

Arbitration usually favors the players, no question. I'm sure the AAV is too high, but that's the risk. I give BUF a C- on this one.

That guy remembers me of Gallager. Small gritty player that pay the price in front of the net. If Buf is smart they would give him the same kind of contract next year (6x3.75)

I agree but it isn't the worse thing that happened. He will have to resign next year and the Sabres will be able to keep him hopefully for a low price or shed his contract when they have 20m+ cap space to sign new players

He isn't efficient in scoring like Galleger and a 4th line center next year for the Sabres with Cozens coming in

9.9 Goals Above Replacement last year, good for 64th best forward in the NHL - tied with Ovechkin and Schenn. Nice.

Should have been a 2 or 3 year deal at 2 million. To much for a 1 year deal
