Borgman and schmaltz is a complete sideways move. Lefty for a righty.

Yep. Clearly they are happy with left side depth and want an alternative option to Holl on the right side.

Competes for the 3rd pair RD spot with Holl and Duzsak which potentially becomes Liljegrens by January.

Always had offensive potential but not really got a real chance at NHL, Blues have a lot of RHD depth and now Reinke passed him on the depth chart. Right now he is a good option for your third pairing/7th.

Also this helps the Blues cap cause he is one way and he would have had to clear waivers and Borgmen does not.

TOR needs RHD and Blues could use LHD depth.

In my opinion, a healthy Andreas Borgmann is a much better defensive defender than Jordan Schmaltz. Schmaltz had "prospect hype" for years as a well-rounded big defender that could play on both sides of the puck, skate well and play rough, when required, but he's never put it together.

7th D-Man if he even gets to that as last year we put him on Waivers and he passed through. He isn't going to be anything special. He hasn't grown since we have had him.

Schmaltz isn't even really a "prospect" anymore he is literally a 24 almost 25 year old defenseman who passed through waivers last year he has nothing that is good NHL Quality.

Liljegren may get some time with the big club due to injuries but I don't think it will be more than that.

The point about comparing Borgman and Schmaltz being similar makes sense. The reason to do this deal was clearly a RHD vs LHD.

Noticed the "had" as in past tense.

has no had in my comment. Just because he moves to Toronto means Jack sh*t. Toronto can't get anything out of him. Nothing special in Toronto.

why would I be salty about a team who hasn't won a cup in over 50 years. and a team who only gets players who are already ready. Like Toronto won't get anywhere.
