A Florida Trade

Description
Jets fans... What do you think about Pysyk?

I have no idea what it would take to get him, but I know Florida wouldn't want salary in return.

Also read, from Ken Weibe, that it's more likely the Jets trade Kuli in a Masonesque deal, than buy him out.

Keep Stanley. We need his ELC and contrary to what a lot of people think, I think he has more upside than Psysk

Mark Pysyk would not be a long-term solution... But given the depth the Jets have in their prospect cupboards... Specifically on D, Stanley is moveable.

We’ve lost some D depth and there is no guarantee that Samberg signs after this year. I think jets should do a small retool, keep our picks and prospects and see how that goes into the TDL. Poolman May do just a good of a job as Pysyk (man I hate typing his name)

Pysyk is a tough name lol... Agreed

I'm not that high on Poolman. He hasn't showed much at the NHL level, and he's not a young prospect... He's only a year younger than Pysyk. I think they really need the stability.

As far as Stanley goes. He's fine... But Morrissey, Niku, Samberg, Heinola are all higher than him on the LHD depth charts.

This would be a worthwhile deal for the Jets. Pysyk would be a more comfortable top pairing guy, to play with Morrissey.

Agree that he would balance the lines, but if giving up Stanley and a pick, I would rather target Hamonic

Yeah. I just like Pysyk because the contract is so low.

Adding Hamonic would require moving another player to make cap space.

Stanley is a NHLer next year....Hienola and Samberg won't be....not to start anyways...Stanley made a huge improvement this past year...he should not be traded

I don't see Stanley in the NHL next year. Sure he made strides, but at best he's a bottom pair guy. He's not anywhere near "untouchable".

I’ve been a huge Stanley fan even before he was picked by the Jets. He has exceeded expectations at every level and just keeps getting better. I’m not adverse to trading him for the right piece, but with Samberg unsigned and Heinola yet to play a game in NA, I keep him!

He starts on the Moose getting top minutes and PP time. If he plays it will be an injury callup.
Imagine a Stanley/Buff pairing, Jesus!

No thanks.

I'm not against Logan Stanley as a player... But in a trade like this one, I'm fine with him being the piece they move.

I'm not married to him as a Jet. They have other options.

Yah...like Morrow....lol....he is the best Moose D for 2019 and we need him esp if Samberg gives us the middle finger next year

Yeah... Joe Morrow as an 8th dman is fine. He's familiar, and can be plugged in the lineup if needed.

I don't see a situation where Samberg doesn't sign. I'd be more skeptical if he wasn't returning to a team that just won back-to-back national championships... but he is, so it's easy to understand why he'd prefer to go back to UMD for a chance at a three-peat, than play for the Moose.

He has a personal relationship with Neal Pionk, having grown up in the same small town. There will definitely be a LHD spot for him on this team... It's the closest team to his home, aside from the Wild. There's no evidence that he won't sign.... if you did just a tiny bit of research on the kid, you'd realize that there's little chance he doesn't end up a Jet.

At any rate... Logan Stanley is a decent prospect, but the whole point here is that he's not at all untouchable.... In this scenario, Florida has a strong, young core of forwards, and are looking to shed cap. They're going to want a d-prospect in return.... Winnipeg has a plethora of young Dmen in their organization... that's why this makes sense.
