I don't mind the trade or the numbers you give for re-signing RFA's, I just don't see Shatty being bought out. We basically carry the entire cap hit next season, plus his numbers aren't bad considering our defense was a tire fire last year. Smith gets bought out IMO.

I don't really see colorado going after him, the avs are full of top 9 guys what they need is a solid top 6 guy. I think the trade would revolve around kreider. probily increase the pick and add a prospect and i doubt they would have to eat any salary either.

We'd gladly give them Kreider, but it's going to start with Newhook. Not sure Sakic likes to deal any of his prospects...

Hence why Namestnikov (unretained) for a mid pick makes sense.

I don't think he's worth Newhook since he could potentially be a rental, plus i think there was talks about that deal at the draft and sakic shut it down since he wasn't interested in moving him. I think people are over valuing Kreider. Look at what stone was traded for, a 2nd, an A level prospect and mid level player. I think if you give a 1st a B level prospect and a mid range player that easily covers the package, especially a team that is cap strapped.

That's correct. Literally 22 games of Mark Stone was worth a Top 20 Prospect in the league AND a 2nd Round Pick.

If you think 60 MORE Games worth of a Top 15 LW is not worth any more than that, I'm not sure what to tell ya.

I mean....This is the on-ice impact of Kreider....How much value does it have? There's no being selective with numbers here...

They had a deal in place with Mark stone for an extension so the 22 games vs a full season is not really an argument, and if you believe these numbers say it all than why would they even consider trading kreider if he's just as if not more valuable than mack? I don't think there are many people out there who would be taking Kredier over Stone and with no deal in place they won't be getting more in a trade for him.

I'm not comparing Kreider to Stone. I'm comparing Stone's impact over 22 games with Kreider's impact over 82...That's really what you're comparing here.

We're trading Kreider because financially it makes sense for us personally. We're trying to ink players like Fox/Chytil/Kravtsov/Kakko to long term deals in the coming years. With Trouba and Bread on the books for most of the next decade, Kreider's contract would make that tougher. But he would have a ton of value to whoever he went to evidently.

Also, I only think it makes sense to deal for Kreider if there is an agreement in place. Which I think he'd be open to. So that's why we use things like conditional picks for resigning and such. The core of the deal would be a top 50 prospect And a conditional pick for resigning.

I'd rather keep Kreider. He'd be a backup move if we can't move Namestnikov. Anyone else you see going after Namestnikov?

Plenty of teams could use him and have the cap: Anaheim, Winnipeg, Jersey, Columbus just to name a few.

I agree for sure. I like krieder as a player very much and I see the analytics but I also believe in the eye test. hes a good 2nd line winger but thats it.

Maybe NJD or Columbus ... i was going to say CBJ but the return is the problem ... they're basically out of picks.

Yeah no one wants to be the team to give up the best player in a trade, and obviously namestikov would be the ideal guy to go first, i just don't think teams will be lining up for him. I could see something closer to training camps for his deal if contenders see some of their younger guys haven't developed as much as they would have liked and need a top 6 guy.

yeah i know what you mean but they might opt to try and sign a guy like Justin Williams or Jason Pominville for 3 million and get about the same production for less cost

Milano and a low pick is fine. They're looking for a reason to dump him anyone after the incident last month and he's from NY
