*Conditions: Pick is transferred if Marino signs an ELC prior to the 2021 draft, or if Pittsburgh were to trade his rights to another team prior to the 2021 draft.
Result: Marino signed an entry level contract. Edmonton recieves the 2021 6th round pick.
Oilers trying to look like they're doing something, while actually addressing none of their needs and wasting probably the greatest player to ever play in the NHL. How wonderful.

Who's the greatest player ever? McDavid or Marino?
He's a decent player. From a good program obviously.
Much to do about nothing though. He is returning to school I believe. So he will basically be a FA next year unless the penguins can sign him.
Hate kids who refuse to play for the team that drafted them
Is this the case here though? AFAIK Holland has just about run out of room on the 50-man roster and in the AHL lineup. Maybe he figured he'd just get an asset for a prospect he is unlikely to sign.

They have the best 1-2 Forward combo in the league today and have zero excuse to not be at least a playoff team. Clearly their biggest need is secondary scoring, and b/c of their cap situation they've not been able to address this problem. Neal should help, but they're still at least one more 20+ goal scorer away from contending for the playoffs.
