Hate this idea.

Just curious, what do you hate about it?

I think its one more season of as is next year and then the crazy ufa spending starts. I like granlund but he isn't a difference maker. that being said he looks real good as a 2nd line center for those dollars and he is only like 28

Signing 28 year olds to long term deals, especially non-elite ones when you aren't in a contending window is stupid and will likely cripple you in the future.

Yea I get that. Its hard to say though. if AA, Larks, and Mantha (mantha was on pace for) have 30 goal years again...if zadina proves he is a top 6, bert throws in another 20. It would be tempting to make moves like this. But I agree that term is scary. Plus I think 20-21 Veleno is in the linup push out filpula or nielsen

No way in hell Mantha takes another 2 year deal? And no way AA get more then Mantha. Mantha will break loose this season. Try more like 7 x 6.5 for Mantha 7 x 5.5 for AA and 7 x 4.5 for Bertuzzi.

No way mantha only gets signed for a 2 year deal that would pointless! They would wanna lock up more of his UFA years.
