Ducks give up their best prospect, and another good one for declining 23 year old and young so/so winger? When Bobo Murray said "we're looking to get younger", I don't think he meant "Hey, we'll trade away our top prospect (A guy who had 7 pts in 10 NHL games last year), and get older!"

He traded a first for less than 30 games of Eaves, and yes, Eaves was a super often injured player before his current problem and he had super unsustainable numbers as well. He also traded Kyle Palmieri for a couple of picks that were flipped for Hagelin and Jamie frickin McGinn. He let Perrault walk for absolutely nothing after a really good year. Then he traded William Karlsson and I believe a 2nd round pick for James Wisniewski (LOL)

Oh yeah he also employed Carlyle 2x.

Yea, he drafted Comtois who may or may not be traded for a Dunkin Donuts gift card next year.

He also:
Drafted Rakell, Comtois, Gibby, Manson, Montour, Lindholm, Olivier-Groulx, Fowler, Kase, Terry, Steel, Morand, and also traded Bobby Ryan.

Also won 5 consecutive Pacific division titles. Has missed the playoffs twice in the past 9 seasons. That's...pretty good...

Dude, Chiarelli drafted Connor McDavid. Does that make him a great GM? No. It does not. I’m sorry but Fowler is a touch overrated.

The Ducks are crapping themselves now and a lot of it is due in part to the GM and it looks like another year or two of missing the playoffs is ahead. Enjoy the rebuild.

Always nice to get a nice "enjoy the rebuild" from a fellow rebuilder. Those Zuccarello, Parise, Suter, and Zucker contracts are going to be realllllly fun for you guys while you sit in 11th place.

Enjoy the ride!

I’m a Sharks fan. My team has eaten yours for breakfast the last few years. My team has a really good GM that keeps us in contention every year. Yes, the ducks have a cup and the sharks don’t but I get to watch competitive hockey every year and every offseason watch Doug Wilson fleece other GMs and sign star players to amazing contracts.

I think I will enjoy watching my team dismantle yours for years to come, just like in the playoffs two years ago.

Enjoy your rebuild!

The ANA and FLA trades are bad and why get rid of Brodin?

Ahhh, I was wondering where the animosity against the Ducks was coming from, but now I understand. That's fair. Don't mind the Sharks at all. I've got cousins in SJ who have season tickets. Nice little rivalry for California. Kevin Labanc must be dating Doug Wilson's daughter or something along those lines though. What a friggin' steal.

Hopefully EK67 gets his legs back and stays healthy for you guys, and if you figure out how to get one of Jones/Dell to stop a puck, you'll be fine.

Only thing I'd be worried about is the back end of the Karlsson, Burns and Vlasic contracts (And, Jones unless he can bounce back), but that's a future problem.

Jones rounded back to form in the playoffs and played pretty well game 5 against Vegas and onward. Hopefully that transfers to the season but Jones has always been a playoff goalie. The back end of the defense contracts won’t be a concern if they win a cup in the next few years. Also the cap going up with the new tv deal in a couple years.

I personally like what Anaheim is doing with their prospects but it’s likely a long haul ahead for them. I’ll always cherish the Getzlaf vs Thornton rivalry.

Sharks Ducks Kings rivalry goes back a long time, now enters Vegas. Wait, why is this conversation happening in a Minnesota room?

Yeah sorry. Ducks...sharks...ups and downs. I can’t hate Anaheim too much as Selänne is my all time favorite player. I respect Getzlaf and am a big fan of Gibson and the prospects are looking good in Anaheim.

The Burns contract worries me the most as I think Vlasic and Karlsson will be effective well into their late 30s. We’ve got Merkley and Ferraro coming up as well. Karlsson, even when injured was very good for us on a 70 point pace. If healthy next year our defense will be bonkers.

Trocheck would be such a good target for us, but I don't think Florida moves him unless you're overpaying. Zucker is a good player but Florida really doesn't need more wingers and they don't have great center depth beyond Barkov and Trocheck right now since Borgstrom shouldn't be playing 2nd line minutes. Avalanche also probably say no since they have Girard, Byram, and Zadorov on LD.
