I'll put my list here later. Don't have the time right now. Who would you say?

Wow, having John Carlson that high is surprising. I like that he's getting some more league wide recognition after the last two years.

On the basis of who I want most for this upcoming season

1. Victor Hedman
2. Erik Karlsson (when healthy)
3. Seth Jones
4. Brent Burns
5. John Carlson
6. Morgan Rielly
7. Jaccob Slavin
8. Thomas Chabot
9. Shea Weber
10. Alex Pietrangelo

Doughty comes off the list after the horrible season he just had, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again based off of the state of the Kings right now. Giordano was omitted because I think this past season was an anomaly of sorts. It's a very subjective discussion and I'm totally prepared for people to come after me for leaving off their team's top guy.

The main thing i disagree with is Josi not being on this list. I'm still thinking about mine but no Josi?

His defensive issues were really exposed this year I thought. He's close to being on the list, but barely misses for me. I feel like he's the player that everyone was calling underrated for so long that it almost turned into him being a little overrated. Great player, but there are definitely 10 defensemen I'd rather have.

And that's exactly what i think bout Barkov. I'm giving your post a like just because you understand that if everyone says a player is underrated, that can mean he's actually overrated ... I don't think Barkov is overrated, but he's not underrated IMO. Everyone knows how good he is.

Just my personal opinion. Everyone's opinions will differ, and Josi isn't someone I have in my top 10. I personally don't even think he's the best defenseman on the team.

1- Karlsson
2-Doughty (bad team but he’s still a beast)
3- hedman
4- Giordano (prolly won’t repeat this performance but I’m basing this off historically)
5-Burns
6-Carlson
7-Letang (when healthy)
8-Jones
9-Pietrangelo
10- Jack Johnson

You can argue a lot of different guys. It’s not clear cut

Again, no Josi. I think he's arguably top 5.

I’d realistically slot him around 10

I'd assume you're kidding, especially with your comment about Josi and "realistically" he'd go around 10. Also, he's usually considered one of the worst players in the league. I wouldn't call him an AHLer but he's a 6/7 guy ... you're obviously kidding haha, just thought i'd check.

I think it's Ryan Ellis. He's a great defender, moves the puck really well, has a sick shot, kills penalties, plays on the PP, he does it all. I'd love for the Caps/Coyotes to get him.

He's really good, but better than Josi?

He's pretty bad defensively, which is what kept him off the list for me.

I wouldn't say he's bad defensively ... he's not all-defence but i think you're underrating his defensive game.
