That’s a tough division to predict, Washington for the division crown would be my only assumption and a Pittsburgh step back, but here goes, wash, isles, canes, philly wc, devils wc, Rangers, pit, colombus.
You can almost put all the teams in a hat and rank them as you pull them. This is as much of a crap shoot as the Pacific is, I'm predicting 5 teams from the Atlantic will make the playoffs this season and only 3 from the Metro. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say Philly, Pittsburgh and Washington make it top 3 but it could be anyone else and I wouldn't be surprised.
They’re not bad though. They have an awesome defense, and a lineup of quality defensive forwards.
They also have no goaltenders. Korpisalo isn't a starter and the other guy is completely unknown. But who knows how that division will pan out. I wouldn't be surprised if the top 4 teams in the Atlantic finish with more points than anyone in the Metro.

Goaltending is a huge question mark for sure because Korpisalo is not good. I’ve just got a hunch that they pull an Islanders and get crazy goaltending from Merzlikins.
Wow, most people predicted the Pens to miss the playoffs but here you are, thinking they can compete with garbage man Johnson as a top 4.

Whats surprising to me is that people are putting Canes as top 2. I remember when EVERYONE on this site was destroying me for hyping the Canes up before last season xD.
I dont get why the Pens would drop that much. Put Crosby, Malkin and Letang on any team, and im picking them to make the playoffs.

The Canes could win the division or miss the playoffs and I wouldn't be surprised. Its a weak division and its hard to really put anyone as a lock at this time. If New Jersey gets good goaltending they could win the division, if not, they won't make the playoffs. Same with Carolina, and Philly. If Crosby carries the Pens they could win the division, if not they could miss the playoffs. If Washington somehow figures out how to play at 5v5 again, they could win the division, if not they could still win the division but be first round fodder. Its a complete crapshoot.

explain why you think its a weak division? Best division as far as talent across all teams IMO. Another prediction: Metro finishes with the most combined team points at seasons end

The Atlantic has 3 teams that are better than any of the teams in the Metro and then Florida and Montreal that I think are better than most of the teams in the Metro. The Metro is a very balanced division but they don't have any elite teams anymore. Its mainly balanced because the top teams in Pittsburgh and Washington have started to show their age and are declining. The rest have caught up but no one is very scary to look at. They all have strengths and all have some glarding weaknesses.
I'd be incredibly surprised to see the metro finish with the 2nd most combined points, but they'll likely finish ahead of the Pacific. That is a dumpster fire.
