Description
IMO Devils had the best offseason, NYR are close behind. For the worst offseason idk maybe Winnipeg, they lost lots of D and the trouba trade was terrible. PHI also gave a terrible contract to Hayes

Sabres are gonna be a better team then last year, and might steal a wildcard spot. They re-sign Skinner, they brought vesey miller and made a good move bringing Jokiharju

Best- Devils/NYR/TOR

Worst- CBJ by a mile. Lost 3 of the top 4 players for nothing and got back Nyquist to replace Panarin? No clear number one to replace Bobrovsky, and our second beat center is now Wennberg. Not to mention we had 3 draft picks, all in the 4th or later, the first guy we picked missed almost all of last season with a broken leg. It’s hard to argue Columbus didn’t have the worst offseason in the NHL.

Columbus definitely had the worst off-season. NJD, BUF, and NYR had great off-seasons

Zucc was an awful signing for them, they were already the oldest team in the league last year and they werent contenders, they need to get younger not older, by the time the Wild are cup contenders Zucc will probably have heavily declined or his contract eneded anyway. its a watse of cap space. I aldso think they shouvle gotten young assets and picks for Zucker and Brodin. In my opinion their offseason was a complete failure

I actually don’t mind wpg offseason, I might be a miniority on that but hear me out, they didn’t get tempted and overpay or overterm any of there own free agents, and they had a couple young dman on make or break years in poolman and niku, and along with a couple vets in beaulieu and kulikov, I don’t think it is as bad as people think, should give pionk a soft landing and plenty of opportunities. This is all for not though if buffy and Morrissey miss as much time as they did last year. July is famous for pumping up teams higher than they should be and also leaving teams for dead.

They also got Johansen... Which is a big deal. If they trade risto for good return they could be fairly good

Col has a nice offseason, devils a little louder, had a nice offseason, don’t mind the rangers, but I think it’s step one and the major moves, come in about two years when a lot of money comes off the books, I think Dallas jumped the gun a little and overspent when they could have bought a few key items for that price. Min bought themselves into remaining purgatory and I pity the gm that follows Wilson in sj and on a lesser note pit

Sabres is incomplete right now. Add a competent center and rw for the second line and they could surprise. The d has been overhauled but the forwards are still thin.

The wild getting Zucc honestly just damaged them more in the long run.
