Hall

Created by: shmoeman
Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 29, 2019
Published: Jul. 29, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Couple things to start off, no i dont think Hall will get traded bc of how active NJ has been this offseason, . Just kinda looking for a fit+the correct value.
I think the Bruins value their youth a lot but if you're getting a top 5 LW (when you already have one) you can afford to give up a potential 30+ goal scorer. Bs also have a ton of depth at LHD so while Urho is going to be very solid, it doesnt really leave a hole.
NJ gets a very good replacement and while Debrusk will never be an MVP candidate, he may very well become a hard-nosed 30-30 player. Urho has the potential to be a really good top 4 dman, maybe even top pairing with his skating. Backes is included because of cap that NJ can easily take on and the 1st helps that out.
Again, dont think this will ever happen but before the offseason it wouldve been a lot more intriguing for NJ

Backers is a deal breaker. You would need to add a 1st just to get find of Backers so the deal boils down to Debrusk and a good prospect for Hall. That is not enough.

It's a fair deal if includes Backes

(Backes+1st pick kind of cancel each other out)

some people here are talking crazy. If this deal comes with an extension then, without Backes, this deal is completely fair. In fact, it might even take a bit more. Hall was just MVP in 2018 and surely that's enough to give up Jake Debrusk, a good prospect, and a late first.

I’d rather have debrusk+first+Vaak than hall. Debrusk is a 35+goal scorer if he plays a full healthy season at Left wing. Would rather give up 1st + Vaak to find a right wing, a position they actually need. Or just take out debrusk, trade Backes somewhere else. Then I’d do 1st + Vaak and something else for hall if he can play right wing.

Jake Debrusk MAY be a 35 goal scorer when healthy, but we already know what Taylor Hall is when healthy. Plus, the biggest factor is the extension. If the Devils know Hall is being extended the Bruins have to give up more. You can't just pick and choose some stuff you want to give up for an MVP caliber player.

Or they just wait and see if he hits the UFA market and give up nothing if they can sign him. Its not like Hall is a need for Boston.

Debrusk was on pace for 33 goals last year and he didn’t even play the whole season at left wing. He’ll easily hit 35+ if he’s healthy. And yeah, I know you can’t pick and choose especially if there’s an extension in place, which is exactly why the bruins are staying far away from that. Not worth crippling the future for a position they don’t need.

Great, he had one good year, over the past three years Hall has barely outscored him (1.7 to 1.9 P/60) and is five (5) years older. It's a horrible deal.

Disagree. Hall is a beast, but Debrusk is as well. The biggest thing is the Bruins would never offer that deal to Hall. I am not sure they would to anyone in the league with very few exceptions. Hall would not be one of them. Not for a guy who has one excellent season and one very good season. He has hit 30 goals exactly once in his 9 year career. He cannot stay healthy and there have been character issues in the past.

The Bruins are not going to pay that guy more than Marchand, Bergeron or Pastrnak They all have many more 30 goals seasons than Hall.

I don't think they were willing to go there for Tavares, They are not going to 10m for Hall.
