Wildly Optimistic Scenario Best Team this year only

Created by: BSpadaro83
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 30, 2019
Published: Jul. 30, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trying to find a best case that isnt a laundry list of rip off trades. Not fully taking into effect some of the opposing team cap implications, trying to be within reason that they could tweak some of their roster to take on some money but thats it.

The Gardiner Contract is more a what if. Saw the reports that he has a handshake deal in place for a long term contract but what if that is false and he misplayed the market badly. Giving him the Evolving Wild 1 year deal here that lets him retest market.

Ship off Vladdy for picks at the trade deadline to make sure they have cap space for bonuses and bring up a confident Howden who has been killing it in Hartford.

Why are you giving up 2 good players for mid-round picks and immediately making our division rivals better?

Why do you keep putting Staal in trades knowing full well the man has a FULL NMC... Smith makes more sense there as he only has a partial NTC.

You are posting from your brand new burner so I have no idea who you are troll, but no crap he has a full NMC. What part of wildly optimistic in the English language do you not understand? Clearly he isnt going anywhere 99% of the time, but if he was to waive, the only logical places he would waive to are Minnesota and Carolina, tool.

Because it clears Shatty's cap hit to a team that would be willing to take his entire cap hit, which is more important then the division they inhabit. It also makes the Rangers better

I know Shattenkirk is a favorite for NYR fans. Grew up in New Rochelle, went to Brunswick, and was Rangers fan as a kid. Makes sense they like him.

But NJD is building around speed, possession. Shattenkirk is slow and turnover-prone. He just doesn't fit at all. Also, his contract is an albatross. Even if NJD bought him out, the penalty would come at a time when NJD needs to resign Hall and Hischier.

Also, NJD doesn't need a back-up goalie.

My suggestion - pair Shatty with either your 2020 1st, Fox or Miller and get out from contract.
