Horvat had good chemistry with Pettersson and Boeser last year

Besides, 61 points isn’t a 2C

Vancouver literally has 3 capable top 6 centers already.

I would say Horvat is the perfect 2C, and 61 points with terrible wingers is more than enough production for that role. Im not sure on the value for the trade, but I would only make sense if the Canucks could some how move Sutter or Beagle. Stephen would be a solid 3rd line center, giving the Canucks higher end depth.

If I'm Canucks, I stick with Pettersson at 1C and Horvat at 2C. That's a fantastic 1-2 punch down the middle.

So 61 points isn't good production for a 2C but Stepan and his 35 points is?.. Lol

Horvat had his best Chemistry with Pearson (and rousell breifly) towards the end of the season

Miller-Petersson-Boeser FWD1 scoring
Ferland-Horvat-Pearson FWD run and gun fore-checking line

now that's a 1-2 punch, Horvat is the ideal 2C with potential to be a 1C but is not needed for that role right now
