Those are some wildly optimistic trade returns.... Tony D contract is weird too.

Sens don't need Georgiev, and they don't have room for Smith. They're already have a full roster on defense, and they won't pay a guy to play in the Minors.

Too much for one year of Kreider, and Howden isn't a need. I'd counter with Jarnkrok, NJ's 2nd in 2020, and a 2021 2nd (becomes a 2021 1st, if Nashville wins the Cup, or Kreider re-signs) for Kreider - no retention.

Send Georgiev & Namestnikov and maybe the Avs give you a third.

That's just absurd. Georgiev has a good amount of value at this point and Names retained will give us the third easily.

I didn't say retained, and you disagree with a lot of NYR fans.

We would need a possible replacement for Kreider and Tolvi is the closest thing to that right now. Difference between them is Tolvi may need time to reach his potential, if he does at all while Kreider is in his prime and can dominate games, and one team is competing for a cup right now while the other is still building towards it.

I think hes worth a 4th without retention at the most. The contract is too much and he is a UFA at the end of it which hurts his value. However he is a good utility guy and he can play at any fwd position. Does well playing with the best of players or can be relied on as a shutdown defensive forward with a little point production to go alongside that.

Given how shallow Nashville's prospect pool is, Tolvanen is pretty much untouchable. I could see one or more lesser prospects like Pitlick, Richard, Mismash, Campbell or Trenin involved in a Kreider trade, but not Tolvanen.

Thats why I added Howden. Figured we could swap decent prospects while also adding Kreiders value for their cup run. I guess it all depends on how badly NSH wants to win now.

Hence I said maybe a third with Georgiev and no retention on Namestnikov. Apparently most Rangers fans are of the opinion Georgiev is surplus to requirements, and to dump Namestikov to get under the cap you're losing even more value on him. Teams won't make trades just to help another team out of a jam.

Howden doesn't bring much value. While Kreider could be a great add to the Preds, I don't see him as enough as a difference maker to trade Tolvanen for him.
