I’d think TB could get a little better on the return cause that’s pretty pitiful as it stands.

A top 4 RHD ( a need ), a cheaper, left winger as a large upgrade on Palat plus a high end prospect and the first three picks? The only thing i could see is adding in another middle range prospect or a bottom six roster player. Palat is becoming more of a cap dump than an asset.

This is a completely laughable return for TB.

Let me ask you this:

MacKinnon and Donskoi for McDonagh (and he's at least a couple tiers above Johnson), Joseph, Stephens, 1st 2021, 2nd 2022, 3rd 2021. Do the Avs say yes here as well? smile

Apart from that, Rantanen is gonna sign for more, no way he takes 8.5M long term.

Well, the first thing is: The chance TB trades Stamkos is like 0.1%. Why would they? He's their franchise player, their captain and signed to a good contract. He has a NMC and I doubt he wants to leave.

Even putting all this aside, I can guarantee at least 20 teams would put forward a better offer than that. If you're trading a superstar, you're not looking for quantity. Quality is the thing. Try sending sth of actualy quality back. If you want Stamkos, Makar or Byram are your starting point and you add from there.

It’s still a terrible offer. I’m sorry but this is Steven Stamkos not Alex Killorn or Tyler Johnson. You’re not just trading stats, you’re trading the face of the franchise and the Captain- the return would have to Excellent and this is still very bad.

For the sake of an example of a good trade for Stamkos

To Colorado: Stamkos
To TB: Makar, Kaut, Compher and a 1st.
